Day 1 – Third quarter fundraiser

Support your local bloggers

It’s that time of the year again where we come to you, tip jar in hand, and ask you to support what we do here at Eclectablog. As most of you know, this is not a full-time gig for me, Anne and LOLGOP. It doesn’t even come close to paying the bills. We do these fundraisers to help offset our costs for equipment, travel, and fees for various things we do. In exchange, we bring you regularly updated content, insightful commentary, liveblogging, exclusive reporting and magnificent photography.

If you’d like to say “thank you” and help keep us doing what we’re doing, you can do so using this handy dandy Paypal link (you can change the default $25 donation amount to whatever you’d like it to be):

One of the expenses you’re helping to offset this month is having to go to court (taking time off work, getting a lawyer, etc.) Monica Ross-Williams from Reachout Job Search filed for a personal protection order against me to keep me from being able to attend events to cover them for Eclectablog (she admits she she took me to court so I’m not revealing anything I shouldn’t.) Her frivolous and patently absurd claim that she “feared for her life” from me and needed protection was denied by the judge, of course, but these are distractions from what we do here. Consider it contributing to our “legal defense fund”.

This past quarter, you’ve seen amazing coverage of the reading of the Vagina Monologues at the state Capitol building, exclusive interviews with Vagina Monologues creator Eve Ensler and with David Cobb from Move to Amend. Our coverage of the “Patriots in the Park” event this past weekend had some of the only photos from the event that you’ll find online.

We bring you the amazing photography of Anne Savage who covered Mitt Romney’s Michigan campaign stop, President Obama’s campaign stop and created a unique poster from the Vaginas at the Capitol event which is available as a free download.

And, of course, LOLGOP’s fantastic essays, helping to frame the political issues of the day like nobody else can.

So, please consider making a donation. Give what you can to support what we do and we promise to continue to deliver the quality content you’ve come to expect from Michigan’s most popular liberal website.

Thanks.
