Dang. It’s been a looo-ooong time since I posted. In the past 6 weeks I’ve been to British Columbia three times and to Edmonton, Alberta as well, usually for four days at a crack. That on top of household chores, our enormous garden and, for the first time in way too long, a social life, I haven’t had time to blog much at all.
At any rate, I’m back in the saddle and all geared up for more regular blogging.
A little Garden Porn TM Update: we’ve been eating some of the most magnificent lettuce you can possibly imagine for several weeks now. We’re on our second planting of cilantro, radishes and Pak Choi as well as extra lettuce. Our tomatoes are also in full blossom and we’ve already had to tie them up once. We have actual peppers on some of our pepper plants. Snap peas are really coming on now as well as the shell peas. We’ll be harvesting garlic in the next couple of weeks. Our onions are amazing this year as is the Swiss Chard. Basil is looking fanTAStic and so is the kohlrabi. Tonight we’re having a magnificent spinach salad all with fresh spinach from the garden and tomorrow it’s a super stir fry with fresh garlic scrapes and freshly-picked Mizuna. Pure Porn, no question.
Speaking of food, my wife has a new blog up and has been spending a lot of time focusing on food photography. It’s called Glimpse. Take a look, you’ll be glad you did. You should also take a look at her Flickr page which has an even larger variety of photos. Here’s a sample of some of the cool, innovative stuff she’s been working on. The birds in the photo are Blou and Blouise, the two bluedbirds that nested in the bluebird box we put up last year. They fledged a single baby this year.
That’s all for now. Much more to follow ’cause I have so goddam much to say. LOL!
I’m just sayin’…
