Like it or hate it, the President gave his much-anticipated speech tonight. It appears that after a summer of tea bagging screamers with not a shred of decency when it comes to public debate and dialog, the infection has grown beyond the confines of town halls, school gymnasiums, union halls and other public gathering places.
Tonight, during the President’s speech, the Republicans were noisy, rude and offensive. Eric Cantor was busily tweeting away. Others kept holding up copies of bills Republicans have put forward. There was generally a low tone of grumbling and almost-heckling.
But then Joe Wilson (Douchebag, SC) did this:
And finally the tea bagger, screamer tactics arrived in the halls of Congress.
Wilson’s website is HERE. It’s down tonight but you can be sure I’ll be back daily until I get through so that I can demand a very public apology from him. Others have already begun donating to his 2010 opponent.
Never in my 40-{mumble} years have I ever seen such disrespect of a standing president in Congress. Even when George W. Bush was in the low 20s in his approval ratings, Democrats had the decency to give him the respect that office demands and deserves.
Shameful. Just shameful.

He’s also apologized. He called the White House directly but was unable to reach the President. Instead he got to talk to Rahm Emanuel. Bwahahahahahhaaaa!!!
Here’s his “apology” which doesn’t excuse his behavior. He’s also still a liar himself because the legislation doesn’t allow for illegal aliens to participate in the health care proposed by HR3200.
“This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the President’s remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill. While I disagree with the President’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the President for this lack of civility.”
His opponent’s Act Blue fundraising page has raised $30,000 in the two hours since the speech ended. $10,000 of it was just from Daily Kos readers. Heh, heh.
UPDATE 2: The next morning the Act Blue total is now up to $86,000 and the Kossacks have anted up over $43K of that. Do NOT piss of liberals.
