Most of us that have been paying attention have known for some time that the Republican game plan for the Obama administration is to make sure the economy stays depressed and jobless. Any hint that the economy is improving will spoil any electoral chances they have.
Now they are pretty much admitting it. Here’s House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Tanfast):
I don’t need to see GDP numbers or to listen to economists. All I need to do is listen to the American people, because they’ve been asking the question now for 18 months, “where are the jobs?”
They spent the past 18 months defeating, obstructing and derailing any and every attempt that Democrats have put forth to spur the economy. And now they ignore all of the smart economists and all of the hard data and ask us to listen only to made-up Average Joes and Josephines who don’t know their GDPs from their BVDs as if they are some sort of prescient sages on the state of the economy.
Pray to the heavens above that the American electorate is not that dumb. Pray, pray, pray that they can sort out the difference between the people trying their damnedest to get us back on track and those evil sons of bitches trying to keep our country down for purely political reasons.
It IS twisted and evil and they deserve to be punished for it, even if it’s only at the voting booth.
