I just wanted to take a minute to give my very warm thanks to all the Eclectareaders out there who donated to Team Eclectablog’s fundraiser for Netroots for the Troops (NFTT). If you didn’t get a chance to see what our effort resulted in, have a look HERE.
Also, to give you an update on my friend Tony, the main organizer of NFTT, he spent the night in the hospital after having a stent put in to alleviate the kidney stone blockage. He and his partner in life, Lynn, are back in Charlotte now and he was at the urologist first thing this morning getting checked out. He has two kidney stones, one that is 1 cm in diameter, and they will need to be dealt with, but at least he is home and on the mend. Tony and Lynn are saints and amazing organizers and truly wonderful friends of mine. It’s a privilege to have worked with them on this project.
They have asked me to be the volunteer coordinator again next year, so I must have done something right. They hadn’t finished the sentence before I, of course, enthusiastically said “yes”.
So, anyway, thanks to all of you who supported our effort. Some of you gave more than once, some gave a whole LOT and every single donation was received with deep gratitude and thanks. Although I didn’t reach my goal, we still raised more money this year than last ($1,460) and I have high hopes for 2012. Thank you all so much.
