Volunteers needed for P.A. 4 repeal petition drive at Ann Arbor Art Fair

This is from our good friends working hard to repeal the anti-democratic Emergency Manager law, P.A. 4 (aka, “the Financial Martial Law Act”.)

Calling All Recall and Repeal Heroes,

500,000 folks will visit Art Fair next week. The Recall Snyder and Repeal PA4 (emergency managers) campaigns are linking arms to make the Ann Arbor Art Fair the biggest petition-signing event of the year. We need your help! Here’s how to be part of history:

1) In addition to the petition booth originally planned for Liberty St, we are expanding to cover many other petition sites surrounding the AF in public areas. All sites have been coordinated with city officials and are in public places. Our goal is at least 2,000 signatures each day.

2) We will have a staffed HQ office in the heart of AF on Liberty St all four days (Wed 7/20 – Sat 7/23), all materials will be provided, and instant “hotline” cell support for all petitioning teams… all we need is YOU to fill a shift!

3) We have four different volunteer opportunities to choose from… something to suit everybody’s personal preferences, comfort level and experience. CLICK HERE to see the menu of volunteer opportunities, times and places.

Petition Team Captains (Column #1): For those who have any experience with either the recall or repeal petitions and who are willing to help 2-3 novices get comfortable with petitions. A cell phone is required.

Petition Volunteers (Columns #2 – #4): For those who are willing to collect signatures but have never worked either petition. (These petitions attract signers! No special expertise is required!)

Runners (click “Runners” at the bottom of the menu to see these shifts): Will travel a circuit from team to team to HQ, restock and pick up petitions, tend to team needs by calling messages into our AF HQ. You will be part of our AF hands, feet, eyes and ears. A cell phone is required. NO actual running is required… AF gets hot!… just go on helpful “missions”.

Walkers (click “Walkers” at the bottom of the menu to see these shifts): Will simply walk around AF as they normally would wearing a “Recall Gov Snyder… Ask Me How!” shirt. When asked by grateful AF patrons, they will use a special map to direct them to a petition team.
