Remember that racist “Yellow Girl” Superbowl ad Pete Hoekstra ran last winter? (You can read my pieces on it HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.) Somehow a station in the Flint/Saginaw area ran it again this morning by accident.
The CBS affiliate in Flint and Saginaw mistakenly ran Pete Hoekstra’s controversial Super Bowl commercial – attacked for claims of xenophobia in February – at least two times Tuesday morning, campaign spokesman Greg VanWoerkom said today.“We’re not running that commercial and we’ve called the station to try and figure out what happened,” VanWoerkom said. “At this point, it looks like a complete station error. Every other station in the state used the right one.”
I love the karmic boomerang this ad is having. It’s already all but destroyed any chance that Hoekstra had of beating Debbie Stabenow. Now it’s pounding the nail in the coffin of his failed candidacy.
Delicious schadenfreude.
