Day 4 — Third Quarter Fundraiser — Giving the people a platform

by

Why support Eclectablog? We do more than report stories others ignore. We help the voice of the people be heard.

Citizen journalism is vital to our democracy not just because it’s unconstrained by corporate or special interests. Citizen journalism is by the people, for the people.

When I joined Team Eclectablog, I was already speaking out on issues I care about. But Eclectablog gave me a much bigger megaphone. And we do the same for everyone who cares about what’s happening in Michigan and across the country, in our legislatures, our schools, our hospitals and our communities.

We don’t just share the viewpoints of elected officials and their spokespeople. We talk to citizens and activists and people on the ground who are doing whatever it takes to make Michigan — and our country — a better place. We give a voice to teachers, nurses, workers, business owners and others who have something to say.

By telling stories no one else is, we raise awareness of the issues people are fighting for. We help bring problems and solutions to light. We hold those in power accountable and we celebrate the common man and woman who are making a positive difference in the world around them.

What’s more, by educating and informing you, dear readers, we arm you with knowledge that gives you power. This helps make you stronger advocates for the issues and causes you care about. We give you resources you can take back to your communities to help drive positive change.

Whether we’re telling you about direct action opportunities, exposing corruption and abuses of power or shining a spotlight on good work being done everywhere from Washington, D.C., to the neighborhoods of Detroit, it’s all about giving voice to the issues people care about most.

It’s about giving the people a voice.

You can help us amplify those voices by making a donation using the PayPal link below. You can change the amount if you wish.

You can also wait until the TinyPass pop-up appears (every tenth click on the site) and make your donation that way. If you do that, the pop-ups will go away as long as you have cookies enabled.

If you would prefer to send a check, send Chris an email and he’ll give you the address.

If you can’t afford to support us financially, you can still help. Please share our content on your Facebook page or other social media like Twitter, etc. Put a “Like” on our Facebook page and click the “Invite friends” button and encourage your friends to like us, too.

The more our voices are heard, the more yours is, too.

Thanks so much,
Amy, Chris, Anne and LOLGOP
