This hurts me more than it hurts you…
I’ll admit it: I HATE begging my readers for money. I live a pretty simple lifestyle with no expensive boats or vacation homes. We don’t travel much outside of work because we can’t afford it. But I do work hard. And so do the other contributors at Eclectablog. We’re trying to build something bigger than all of us.
And it’s working. We’ve established ourselves as a credible site for getting out the truth about things you might not even hear about otherwise. As Amy said yesterday, we give people a platform and a voice they might not have had if Eclectablog didn’t exist. We’ve gotten big enough, in fact, that people are now turning to us to get their story out. The Black family in Benzie County, for example, sent me information that lead to a “the rest of the story” post about an oil company spraying brine on dirt roads in their community the contained toxic industrial solvents. When fake Democrats raise their hypocritical heads, I hear about it and we squash their lies like cockroaches. I can’t cover absolutely everything people send me but we do a pretty good job.
Our goal, of course, is to eventually build something so big that this can become our full-time jobs. And, if that happens, look out! We’ll really kill it then! But, for now, we have to rely on running some ads and, unfortunately, asking you to support us financially.
There are three ways you can do that:
First, you can make your donation using the PayPal link below. You can change the amount if you wish.
[donateplus]
Alternatively, you can wait until the TinyPass pop-up pops up (every tenth click on the site) and make your donation that way. If you do that, the popups will go away as long as you have cookies enabled. Again, the default amounts for annual or monthly donations can be adjusted to whatever you wish them to be.
Finally, if you would prefer to send a check, send me an email and I’ll give you the address.
If you cannot afford to support us financially, you can still help. Please share our content on your Facebook page or other social media like Twitter, etc. Put a “Like” on our Facebook page and click the “Invite friends” button and encourage your friends to like us, too.
Thanks so much,
Chris, Anne, Amy, and LOLGOP
P.S. Tony Trupiano who hosts the fabulous progressive Night Shift with Tony Trupiano radio show has been gracious enough to run an ad this week promoting our fundraiser. Here’s the ad if you’d like to hear what I sound like:
