Support Netroots Nation and score some unique swag in the process
Despite what you might read in the Detroit News, Netroots Nation is decidedly NOT exclusively funded by the labor unions and fat cat “union bosses”. Every year, in fact, they hold an auction to raise funds to make the country’s largest gather of progressive organizers the amazing event that it is.
This year’s auction is now underway. There are all sorts of amazing items to bid on. Jewelry. Clothing. Political memorabilia. You can read more about the auction HERE and check out the auction site where you can peruse the 100 different items up for bid HERE.
One of the items you can bid on is a “Welcome to Michigan” tour donated by Gary Peters, Democratic candidate for Senate in Michigan. It’s a really sweet tour run by Detroit Venture Partners that … well, here’s the description so you can see for yourself:
Did you know that just steps away from Netroots Nation 2014 are some of the most amazing tech and start-up businesses in the country? The Motor City has some fierce new firepower from a thriving Start-Up Community. Join Democratic U.S. Senate Candidate Gary Peters, Detroit-based venture capitalists Jake Cohen and Josh Linkner and some of Michigan’s most talented entrepreneurs to explore downtown and learn about the new businesses and innovation that are transforming the city.
What better way to dive into #NN14 than with Michigan’s next U.S. Senator and a tour of Detroit Venture Partners?
Welcome to Michigan!
It’s a pretty sweet tour and a side of Detroit that few people ever get to see.
The auction ends Tuesday, August 20th so hop over and make your bids.
