Anne and I are pleased to be part of the host committee for an upcoming fundraiser for the gubernatorial campaign of Mark Schauer and his running mate Oakland County Clerk Lisa Brown. The fundraiser is being sponsored by our amazing friends at Citizens Against Government Overreach (CAGO) and the Michigan Education Association PAC.
The reception is from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15th at the Arbor Brewing Company in Ann Arbor (114 East Washington Street) and will feature music by David Roof. Mark will join us at 5:00 p.m. to discuss their campaign and his plan to lead Michigan out of the corporatist morass we find ourselves in today.
The host committee includes Anne and me, Arbor Brewing Company owners Matt and Rene Greff, Mary Aldecoa (CAGO), Linda Carter (Ann Arbor Education Association), Rochelle Noell (Save Michigan Public Schools), and Doug Norton (CAGO).
Below is the flyer for the event. Please join us if you can and give as much as you can. Mark and Lisa have a great message and are running a great campaign but they are up against an astonishing amount of corporate money thanks to Rick Snyder’s connection to the DeVos family and other wealthy Michiganders who would love nothing more than to see their business colleague reelected so that he can continue to favor his friends and benefactors at the expense of the rest of us.
You can RSVP and make your donation at MarkSchauer.com/140515AnnArbor.
Plus, how fun is it to raise money for Rick Snyder’s opponent in his own home town and just two doors down from his 2010 campaign headquarters?!
See you there!
