We normally do four week-long fundraising requests each year here at Eclectablog. This year, we have trimmed that to just two. Additionally, we have removed the ads you normally see on blogs. In fact, the only ads you’ll see (aside from the ones that automatically come with the Disqus commenting system) are from our progressive partners. The site gives them access to a targeted audience and, by helping them, it helps us.
That means that we have shifted our emphasis. Instead of writing clickbait posts with the intention of driving traffic (and thereby the paltry ad revenue), we are now focused on building a community of readers who believe that what we do is important and worth supporting financially. So, once a day this week, we’re coming to you, hat in hand, and asking you to make a financial contribution to support what we do here at Eclectablog.
All of our regular contributors at Eclectablog are paid for their work but that can only happen with YOUR help. If you value Eclectablog, please consider making a donation.
There are two ways to help. First, you can use the handy PayPal forms at the top of the right sidebar to make a one-time donation via Paypal or to set up a monthly donation. Second, you can send a check (which avoids Paypal taking out a percentage of your donation) to Chris Savage, P.O. Box 32, Dexter, MI 48130. Please make the check payable to “Eclectablog”.
Thanks for being part of our success!
P.S. Speaking of paying our regular contributors, we’ll have exciting news about a new Eclectablogger coming later this week!
