After his comments that “God will take care” of climate change so humans don’t need to do anything different, Republican Congressman Tim Walberg has faced international backlash over the remark (video HERE.) People have pointed out that his approach is akin to the old joke about the guy about to perish in a flood who rejects offers from people in boats to save him saying “God will take care of me”. Right before the guy drowns, God shouts at him, “I sent you four boats. What more do you need from me?!”
Others have pointed out that when Walberg needed surgery, he didn’t rely on “God to take care of that.” He went to a surgeon. Just like the world is now relying on the scientific experts telling us what we need to do.
