Let’s face it, waiting for the election returns on Election Day after the polls close is going to be excruciating. Painful. Anxiety-ridden. Heart-stopping. So why not do it in a fun way by joining your progressive friends at a drive-in “theater”?!
Our pals at Progress Michigan are doing just that. Starting at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3rd, you can go to the drive-in and watch from the comfort of your car or lawn chair while enjoying speeches from special guests and snacking on food and drinks from food trucks (all while following COVID guidelines, of course!)
Lonnie Scott, Progress Michigan’s Executive Director, told me, “For four years progressives in Michigan have waited for a chance to send a big middle finger to Donald Trump and stop his reign of terror. While we likely won’t know results on election night, this event will allow us to gather together safely to celebrate the hard work done by so many progressives across the state.”
Spaces will be limited to provide ample distancing for those who would like to set up a viewing area outside their cars (please no pop-up tents or other structures that would block others view.) Sound will be available outside and also through your vehicle radio via their transmitter. Participants are asked to bring masks for use if they are outside their vehicles.
