Anne and I were sitting around with cocktails and dogs watching Rachel Maddow talk about Mitt Romney’s absurd statement about not understanding why you can’t roll down the windows in a jet airliner that’s flying through the air at hundreds of miles per hour so high there isn’t enough oxygen to breath.

Yesterday, at a campaign stop in New Hampshire with her husband Vice President Joe Biden, the crowd reacted to one of Jill Biden’s comments as if she was referencing her husband’s junk. The unintentional double entendre cracked up Joe, the crowd, and Jill Biden herself.
“I’ve seen Joe up close,” Dr. Biden said, holding her hands a couple feet apart.
The crowd started cheering and whistling and catcalling and Jill turned around repeatedly to look at her husband who was also cracking up.

One of several Romney campaign buses making the rounds in the USA made a stop on the campus of Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant this week and drew a teeming crowd of “about 17”. Michigan Victory Communications Director Kelsey Knight said, “We’re here in an effort to splash how strong our grassroots efforts here in Michigan.”
Mission not accomplished.

Mitt Romney unveiled his Drill Here, Drill Now fantasy of an “energy policy” yesterday and the wind made a surprise appeance. Not IN his presentation but nearly blowing DOWN his presentation.
“I have a chart that still, despite the wind, is still holding up up here,” Romney said, showing his giant chart. “These guys have held it up with about every piece of weight you can think of…”

Earlier today, I wrote about how Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette is trying to resurrect the Zombie Emergency Financial Manager Law, PA72. I showed how he’s using circuitous logic to arrive at that conclusion. But, it’s pretzel logic at it finest.
He says first that MCL 8.4, which prevents the resurrection of a dead law, doesn’t apply because PA4 is only suspended, not repealed. Therefore, it’s still on the books and MCL 8.4 doesn’t prevent them from resurrecting PA72.
Then he says that, because PA4 is gone, its repeal of PA72 doesn’t exist so it is able to rise from the dead to walk the earth among the living.
I put together this easy-to-follow flowchart to help out AG Schuette who seems to lack the ability to grasp simple, common sense concepts. It’s so basic that even Mr. Schuette should be able to wrap his simple mind around it.
