What Eminem Would Do To Mitt Romney Tonight

What Eminem Would Do To Mitt Romney Tonight

WARNING: The videos on this post feature some NSFW language Yesterday, I joked that President Obama would probably set the world’s record for listening to Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ in the next 24 hours. No song better sums up the pressure of facing a do-or-die moment where everything depends on your performance. You remember: Business Insider‘s The Stalwart — a great […]

Joe Biden’s 2-Minute Explanation Of The Economy That Every American Needs To See

Here’s some good news: The most watched moment of the vice-presidential debate also appears to be one of Joe Biden’s best. When the subject finally turned to the economy, the vice-president gave a two-minute answer that did three crucial things. First, it gave a cohesive narrative of the economy over the last four years, then he called out Mitt Romney’s […]

Today Is National Coming Out Day, Or, As Republicans Call It, ‘SHHHHHH!’

Today Is National Coming Out Day, Or, As Republicans Call It, ‘SHHHHHH!’

National Coming Out day began in 1988 on the anniversary of 1987 National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights. In the more than two decades since the first Day O’ Coming Out, the victories for equality have been small – the first gay characters and kiss on TV – and large – ending Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, California […]

Mitt Romney: The Vaporware Candidate

Mitt Romney: The Vaporware Candidate

Nothing new under the sun

When computer companies want to command headlines and freak out their competition into making bad decisions, they announce “vaporware”. Here’s the description from Wikipedia:

Vaporware is a term in the computer industry that describes a product, typically computer hardware or software, that is announced to the general public but is never actually released nor officially cancelled. Vaporware is also a term sometimes used to describe events that are announced or predicted, never officially cancelled, but never intended to happen. The term also generally applies to a product that is announced months or years before its release, and for which public development details are lacking… At times, vendors are criticized for intentionally producing vaporware in order to keep customers from switching to competitive products that offer more features.

This is the perfect description of Mitt Romney and the Republicans. Details and the media’s evisceration of Mitt Romney’s “major foreign policy speech” after the jump.

There is nothing more powerful than ordinary citizens coming together for a just cause.

There is nothing more powerful than ordinary citizens coming together for a just cause.

“Forward Together” — a new photomosaic of Barack Obama

Four years ago, I was busy devoting most of my free time knocking on doors and talking to people about the presidential election. At first I was very uncomfortable disturbing folks at their homes to talk about a subject that most would prefer to avoid: politics. Admittedly, it took me a little while to become comfortable with the front porch conversations, but, as soon as I did, there was no stopping me. I loved it. All of it.

In ’08, I also spent some time traveling around Michigan photographing Obama rallies. While Obama spoke to the crowds, I photographed them. I viewed, intimately through my lens, the large diverse crowds while he spoke the words “Yes we can” and shared a message of unity and how together we can bring about change.

R.I.P. Rudy the Parrot

R.I.P. Rudy the Parrot

We lost our little guy today. Rudy was a Senegal Parrot and was 19 years old. He was probably the smartest animal in our house. He rolled over, asked for peanuts, and knew tons of words and phrases like “What the…?” and “Would you like a beer?”

And “Peek-a-boo”. Video proof after the jump.

The One Advantage The GOP Has Is That They Have No Credibility To Lose

The One Advantage The GOP Has Is That They Have No Credibility To Lose

A Republican is a man who will let not truth get in the way of what he believes. If you were the Captain of the Hindenburg or the Titanic, you probably wouldn’t put that on your resume. But across the country on November 6, hundreds of candidates will put “Republican” next to their names on ballots. If your party blew […]

Mitt Romney discovers bipartisanship and embraces Democratic ideas at first debate

Mitt Romney discovers bipartisanship and embraces Democratic ideas at first debate

Big Bird is why we can’t have nice things

Last night was a victory of sorts for Mitt Romney. He came across as almost human and actually seemed to be delivering facts and substance in his comments. But the reality is that he did nothing of the sort. He made a lot of comments that sounded like facts and like he was staking out a position but, when you scratch the surface, you find it’s just a thin layer of whitewash on the same undefined, nebulous candidate that we’ve watched for the past year.

Much more after the jump.
