Koch Brothers launch $6.1 million attack ad against Obama, Obama campaign responds, calling it “BS”

We’re not taking this BS lying down

The Koch Brothers group Americans for Prosperity has launched a $6.1 million ad attacking President Obama. You can tell they are prosperous when they spend over $6 million on one ad. In fact, this is now the second time Americans for Prosperity has nearly $6 million on an attack ad against the president.

I won’t link the odious ad but you can watch it HERE if you must.

Obama for America (OFA), the Obama reelection campaign, has responded quickly and, to my mind, very effectively. This response video is pretty unusual. It…

In Memoriam: Newt Gingrich for President

In Memoriam: Newt Gingrich for President

How the bane of our political system made Bain Mitt’s Albatross. With the possible exceptions of Grover Norquist, Karl Rove and Roger Ailes, no one man has done more damage to the American political system than Newt Gingrich. But that was back when he was relevant, more than a decade ago. In the last year, Newt’s campaign for President re-imagined […]

I do believe that George W. Bush & the GOP just got Barack-blocked

And his dad got to watch It’s a rather striking coincidence that Barack Obama ordered Osama bin Laden killed almost exactly 8 years to the day that George W. Bush strapped on a codpiece and landed on an aircraft carrier looking like the soldier he never was, the warrior he always wanted to be but was too busy getting wasted […]

Lilly Ledbetter on the GOP War on Women: “Romney should understand this…is about families and economic security”

Lilly Ledbetter on the GOP War on Women: “Romney should understand this…is about families and economic security”

A veteran in the War on Women sets Mitt Romney straight

I was on a conference call today with DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and Lilly Ledbetter, the namesake of the now-famous Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. The two women were speaking to reporters about the War on Women as Mitt Romney tours Pennsylvania and Virginia in this first week of the general election.

Ms. Ledbetter, a woman who has been through some of the major battles in the War on Women, has a few things she’d like to say to Mitt Romney.

Some in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula calling for secession from state due to government overreach

Some in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula calling for secession from state due to government overreach

That’s it. We’ve had it. So long.

Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is a magnificent place and really is a world all to its own. Touching three of the Great Lakes, its climate, geography and culture is completely separate in many ways from the rest of the state.

Over the years, there have been at least four different attempts to secede from the state to form the state of “Superior” or “Ontonagon”.

With the massive overreach of the current government of Michigan, some in the Upper Peninsula are renewing the call for secession

How the Death of Osama bin Laden Sent the GOP Chasing Its Tail

How the Death of Osama bin Laden Sent the GOP Chasing Its Tail

Politicizing 9/11 is terrible. But using it as a premise to invade the wrong country is cool. Hi. I’m one of those death penalty hating, rule-of-law loving American progressives who cheered the death of Osama bin Laden a year ago today. Without a trial, the personification of Al Qaeda was summarily killed and dumped into the Indian Ocean. And I, […]

New vote on Michigan cyberschools TODAY – CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE

You don’t always get a second chance like this

Last month, in a post titled “Cyber schools: A for-profit model designed to destroy our public school system & benefit corporations”, I wrote about the effort by Michigan Republicans to dramatically expand cyber schools in our state, an effort that is yet another step in destroying our public school system.

This is from the fine folks at We Are the People Michigan…
