I’ll just sleep in mid-November…

Anne and I arrived home from the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC at about 11:30 p.m. Friday night. The next morning I was on the road at 6:30 a.m. to the Michigan Democratic Party’s State Convention which took place over two days this weekend at the Lansing Center in Lansing. Like me, there were a LOT of faded looking people there but, despite their weariness, Day One of the convention was a huge success; well-attended and with high energy.

Wow! Did you SEE that last night? I don’t have much of a sense of how the National Democratic Convention came across to the people of the USA but I can say that, without any reservation whatsoever, the people in the arena were positively ecstatic.

Charlotte rain can’t dampen Democrats enthusiasm

It’s been a raucous day in Charlotte, NC as the Democratic National Convention gets underway. Here are some photos, good ones by Anne, crappy ones by me, that give you a little taste of the scene here.

The Eclectateam has landed

Anne and I have arrived at the Charlotte Convention Center and are attending an Obama campaign blogger briefing and we now have tonight’s schedule. Charlotte is a riot of activity and excitement. In addition to me being a delegate, Anne and I have DNC media credentials and have also gotten credentials to The PPL, a netroots-focused space. More information on that HERE.

In order to get our media credentials, we had to wait in line, get pre-credentials, wait in line again and the go through security then wait in line again and THEN we got our credentials.
