Election 2014: Who do we blame for the results?

Election 2014: Who do we blame for the results?

Faith is not rational — remember that because we will be coming back to it. This column has been long delayed for a variety of reasons, which matter not to the essence of what I have to share today. An autopsy of the November 4, 2014 election continues to manifest itself in many publications and television shows the world over. […]

REMINDER: Canvass packs beat Super PACS and special interest money – It’s time to canvass for Democrats!

REMINDER: Canvass packs beat Super PACS and special interest money – It’s time to canvass for Democrats!

It’s no secret that Republicans have a cash advantage over Democrats and nowhere is that more obvious in Michigan. The sinking ship that is Terri Lynn Land’s Senate campaign still managed to outraise her Democratic opponent Gary Peters by over $1 million last quarter. Governor Rick Snyder outraised his Democratic opponent Mark Schauer by over $2 million. Much of the […]

Can’t leave the house to Get out the Vote (GOTV)? Do it from home with Democracy for America!

Can’t leave the house to Get out the Vote (GOTV)? Do it from home with Democracy for America!

GOTV in your jammies!

I’m going to say right off the bat that I am, in general, against phonebanking from home. People that phonebank with others are more productive. It creates a sense of accountability AND a sense of camaraderie that you simply can’t get doing it alone.

That said, not everyone can get out of the house to phone bank or knock doors even though they want to help. Well, thanks to Democracy for America, you CAN help, even if you can’t leave the house. They are making calls around the country to support the various progressive Democratic candidates that they have endorsed and need help getting out the vote for these fine candidates.

Details about how you can get involved after the jump.

What we do with that time between now and the November 6th election is up to us. But, what I can tell you is that your highest “bang for your buck” volunteer time will be for OFA.

I’ll explain why after the jump and, yes, it explains what “microtargeting” is.

OFA Wall Street Reform Day of Action – TOMORROW!

Tomorrow, Thursday, May 6th, Organizing for America (OFA) is holding a nationwide Wall Street Reform Day of Action.
